Recently, a new startup reached out to me about their innovative version control system for Eagle files. This system includes a unique visual comparison feature, making it easier to track changes in your PCB designs.
However, as a PCB expert, I have reservations about adopting a new version control system, especially one that is untested and hosted on a third-party server. Additionally, the requirement for a subscription further complicates the decision-making process.
While my initial response may have come across as overly critical, it is crucial to prioritize the security and reliability of any tools we use in the PCB design process.
